چکیده
Abstract Objective Conflicting data exist on the diagnostic sensitivity of core-needle biopsy (CNB) compared to fine-needle aspiration (FNA) in evaluation axillary lymph node metastasis from breast cancer. Our purpose was evaluate CNB and FNA using subsequent surgery as gold standard compare patients’ subjective pain levels for each method. Methods This IRB-approved prospective study enrolled 140 patients February 2014 May 2019 with known or suspected Patients underwent both US-guided 14-gauge same clip placement rated their level a verbal numerical rating scale 0 10. The sensitivities were determined by pathology surgically excised McNemar test correlated proportions. Changes scores Wilcoxon rank sum test. Results A total 94 had confirmatory excision biopsied nodal detected 71.3% (67/94). detection 95.5% (64/67), while 67.2% (45/67) (P < 0.05). Overall score ratings increased 0.6 baseline an 11-point scale, overall decreased 0.2 Conclusion demonstrates that has superior metastases mildly 25-gauge

Concordance Rate between Fine Needle Aspiration Biopsy and Core Needle Biopsy in Breast Lesions
Background and Objectives:Breast cancer is the most common cancer among women worldwide. Fine needle aspiration biopsy (FNAB) is one of the methods of breast biopsy which is fast, easy and cost effective. The aim of this study was to evaluate the concordance rate between pathologic results of sonography or stereotaxy guided FNAB and guided core needle biopsy (CNB) in the evaluation of breast le...

OBJECTIVE To propose an algorithm to determine the necessity for ultrasonography-guided fine-needle aspiration (US-FNA) in preoperative axillary lymph node staging of patients with invasive breast cancer. MATERIALS AND METHODS Prospective study developed at National Cancer Institute. The study sample included 100 female patients with breast cancer referred for axillary staging by US-FNA. RE...

متن کاملPredictive value of fine needle aspiration biopsy of axillary lymph nodes in preoperative breast cancer staging.
OBJECTIVE Diagnosis of axillary nodal involvement is significant in the management of breast cancer as well as in predicting prognosis. In this prospective study, we evaluated the efficiency of US-guided fine needle aspiration biopsy (FNAB) in preoperative axillary staging of early breast cancer. MATERIAL AND METHODS Between January 2011 and July 2013, 46 women were prospectively enrolled in ...
متن کاملFine Needle Aspiration Biopsy of Lymph Nodes
Fine needle aspiration biopsy of lymph nodes using a 19 gauge needle and Luer Lok syringe was performed in 59 cases. This was compared with histological diagnosis and an accuracy of 93.2% was achieved. This method is simple and is highly acceptable among patients. It is a very useful technique where a biopsy of lymph node is not possible (JPMA 30:267, 1980).
